Up, around, and under Oregon's tallest peak

Oregon’s tallest peak is Mount Hood, which rises evocatively from the Cascades to the east of Portland. This volcanic peak is an icon of Oregon and one of the most breathtaking sights in all the West. My tour of Mount Hood takes you up, around, and under the mountain, showing all the breathtaking sights the region has to offer.

Over the course of this full day tour we’ll visit the impressive and history-rich Great Depression-era Timberline Lodge, half-way up the mountain and famous for its skiing (and for serving as the exterior of The Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s chilling film, THE SHINING.) You’ll enjoy some of my favorite views of the Cascades, feasting on the commanding views of distant peaks and spectacular natural scenery.

We’ll explore the picturesque and historic Hood River, getting lunch in this beloved village in the shadow of Mount Hood. Next, we’ll visit some of my favorite waterfalls, where I’ll utilize my years as a professional photographer to help you take memorable and breathtaking photographs. After our up close and personal views of the Columbia River Gorge’s most majestic waterfalls, we’ll end our day with a visit to the stunning Crown Point, where you'll take in the seemingly endless views from its perch 700 feet above the gorge.
